A quick sketch for today’s work…interesting in that sometimes casual and messy just works….this is a fine example of that!
The big count down….tomorrow the mac is being delivered….so for the remainder of the day I will be trying my best to make room for it. If I disappear for a few days it is because soooo much to learn…that is if easy to install software etc. I have not forgotten the “give away” prints….stay tuned it is going to be fun!!!!

Took a few minutes for a very quick painting. Due to the drought…although we have had a good bit of rain the last couple of months, the Metro Atlanta area is still in a serious drought…so like everyone else I am trying to cut back. I usually wash dishes by hand….but I am told filling the dish washer conserves more water. There are times when, well I just run out of glasses, cups and still, the dishwasher is not yet full. Which was the case this afternoon…as I broke out my desert glass for some water…as I was cutting up a lemon I decided to paint it as well…all things can be put to good use and turned into a painting
Now to see if there really is anyone out there and if your paying attention…I have decided to give away a 17 x 21 print of one of my paintings (no….not the above lemons painting…a surprise). ..so stay tuned for instructions on just how you can be the lucky recipient.

The many signs of spring are popping up everywhere….birds singing in the Bradford Pear trees, as are there lots of buds and flowers. I fell in love with both the dogwood tress and Bradford Pear trees when we first arrived in Georgia. Due to the wet land, we could not get a dogwood to grow on our property. So, in went the Bradford Pears, what I did not know at the time was that the flowers smell….and not a very pleasant aroma at that. The trees beauty when blooming make the smell something to just ignore, it is only for a short time. This year just may be shorter then most for freezing rain and possible snow is in the forecast…so glad I took a few minutes to get a few shots late yesterday….even if I did not have enough time to enjoy due to the light fading. Last image is the daylilies popping up throughout the yard. All images taken with a Nikon D300, close up lens (without tripod….always best to use a tripod….especially if not steady).

Well….I did it….ordered a mac….how cool is that. So the big count down to delivery, maybe next week. I am sooo looking forward to it….and a bit nervous. Not the first time I tried an “apple”. Actually have an older G3….hardly used. I found it more then a pain in the ass At the time I guess they were in between operating systems and I had to keep switching back and forth between the two….all the while working more and more on the PC….so never really got the hang of it and before you knew it…well it was just collecting dust. Now….with my limited office space….wondering just where I can make room for it!
As for the above painting….part of my lunch….did a quick sketch before nibbling on it…..then completed it. Oh…and for those wondering if I shared my apple with the pups….yep sure did.

I am slowly getting back into the swing of things…feeling better, a little stronger a BIG Thank You to those who sent e-mails of Get Well….so very appreciated when one is feeling ill. Classes will start up again in April….dates will be posted soon. Also….getting ready for Mothers Day….now is when you want to start planning. Scedule a date and time for your photography session if wanting a painted portrait, ASAP. For those that will be using your own images, remember…I need several….good, clear crisp images only! I have been missing in action….not feeling 100%….so taking a little break from the world….when the weather is nice….you will find the pack and me out back doing a little bird watching….going for walks and just wanting to feel better….soon, I’ll be back real soon!!!!
