A close up view of something started long ago and for whatever reason was placed a side….sometimes it is as simple as the fact I have lost my ability to focus on it….at other times it is because I have deadlines to meet and I just never find my way back. Until that day when I rediscover it and…for lack of a better phrase….it haunts me. Still very much in the early stages I have once again been adding some details here and there as I also have commission work that is a bit more pressing as far as a deadline….I am looking forward to completing this by the New Year.
This painting is all about that very first love….so pure and innocent and those feeling of anguish….what if he/she does not like me back?

This past weekend found me surrounded by puppies, nothing more adorable then a Golden Puppy!!! I did my best to leave with one or two in my pocket….sigh, the breeder took a count before I left….darn it A cold front had moved in and it was a bit cold outside so all photographs to be taken inside….fast puppies, low light….outside would have been soooo much better!
These were my favorite puppies….too cute!
After getting to hang out with the 11 puppies I then traveled to Asheville and stayed in a lovely Bed & Breakfast (and for those always on the look out for dog friendly Inn’s, this is B&B is for you…oh and make sure you stick around for breakfast….yummy). During my oh too short stay I called Marilyn Sholin and we met for dinner at Havanna’s (Mikey Too). Good food, Good wine….and wonderful company.

I love to paint the relationship we humans have with our four legged friends. Nothing better to view then the love and respect we have for them. While yes, we are the care givers to these magnificent creatures, they give so much themselves…and they teach us soooo much and of course….they listen…listen to all of our secrets.

I like to watch those that hang out with their furry friends. Just makes me smile. So often we just do not make the time for them….always saying tomorrow…sadly, their life spans are short…too short. Make every moment count, have some fun…play laugh enjoy the many moments you have to share together
What can I say about Jin…to look into her eyes you just fall in love with her. She is a beauty and so true to her breed…fun, lively and oh so very curious about everything. Took a close look at my calender today…can you believe the Holiday season starts in just a couple of weeks. Well…mine does anyway….remember to all those that will be wanting a photo session and or a Painting….be it a gift for someone special, or a gift for yourself…now is the time you want to get this done. It takes about six weeks during this time…and if I am verrry busy it could be longer to get something for the Holidays…add to that an early cut off date (will post more on that a little later). Today found the dogs and I hanging out…playing, exploring and even resting a bit. Look at each of their faces and really, what is there not to love about them. They are adorable…even if only through my eyes The best thing about them…they are the best fun police dogs! They know when I need to get up from the PC and just play and romp with them. I do not have any children, and in no way have I ever referred to my dogs as my children (very disrespectful….adore your dogs for being just that and do not try to make them little humans with fur). In my home we do however acknowledge Mother’s and Father’s day. We celebrate for we have no family close enough to have a family get together…usually something special is cooked….today for Father’s Day the Menu will be Eggplant Parmigiana and Macaroni (meat sauce…say NO to jarred sauce and make your own ;-). I will post images a little later as will I include the recipe.

Cloudy, overcast and the occasional storm passing through Atlanta this afternoon. After a few hours of painting I decided it was time for a walk and play. Get the dogs….who when it rains are so lazy, out we go. It did not take long for them to get in the mood for a little romping. Several “fresh” sticks had fallen last night, something new to sniff and chew on. A few games of kick ball, fetch the stick, fetch the ball and of course fetch the Frisbee. We then took some time to do a little bird watching…lot’s of them visiting the feeder this spring. I then noticed the raccoon looking down upon us….through the leaves. So, I decided it was time to head inside and let her eat a few of the seeds before having to chase her away. So, for the reminder of our Sunday I think we will curl up on the sofa and read, nap before our next big adventure out and about.
