On the Easel…In a NY Frame of Mind…
![]()
This afternoon found me going through old files….so many paintings started, then moved on to something else… I have always wondered if most artists work this way?
There are many reasons as to why I work this way…a commissioned piece comes along, I loose my focus, or it is as simple as loosing interest. Today I am going to post one of those unfinished paintings from a long time ago….this will be my summer project, to complete this one painting….that is in between my other paintings and commissioned work. So, I will be posting weekly updates on this one…promise

Dee,
This painting is already gorgeous, and I know the final result will be spectacular!
To answer your question as to whether other artists work “this” way, I have to say yes, at least I do. I have so many “unfinished” paintings that are just waiting for the right moment to be finished. I do like working this way, even when the choice is not mine, because it gives me a chance to rest my eyes from the piece and usually, the result ends up being even better than I had originally imagined it!

Chris thanks for visiting and commenting
Glad to hear that there are others who start something only to put it on the back burner for a while. Yes….I can see how it would be completed all the more better for having put it a side for a while.
