Keeping my eyes on you…

I have so many images of the wild life found in our yard, especially the raccoons Several weeks ago our raccoon stopped visiting us…I am not happy about that for I tend to get attached and worry about them. Going by the past years it seems normal that we would stop seeing them….only the short period early summer are they really out and about during the day….and this one was. Oh well, maybe she will visit again with us next year….or I will happen to catch a glimpse of her for her favorite trees are right behind my home.

Dee-Love the raccoon. I too miss some of my little critters. I had a robin-male-that would follow me around the yard just waiting for me to dig up worms so he could take them to the Mamma and then to the babies. He got to where he would come and stand in front of the door almost like begging for help in the feeding. I would end up giving him some of the meal worms that I use for the bluebirds. Called him Socks because of the white on his little legs. Perhaps the raccoon was busy raising a family also-which would account for the bravery during the day. The kids have to be fed, no matter what. Although I’m not for sure if there is a certain time for raccoon mating or if they produce all year. I’ll check and see what I can find on the internet. I also really-really like the self portrait you did. GREAT!! Sammy would like the beagle-just his type. Thanks for all the great shots and painting. We really enjoy them.

Helen….yes….the raccoons get very brave in the spring and early summer….usually we will actually see babies, however this year they did not visit. While this appears to be normal, this raccoon is not feeding at night either, which is very strange. I know my next door neighbor has a lovely garden so just maybe she prefers fresh food over the seeds
I bet Sammy would like Molly!!!! She is a very sweet, loving beagle!
